Frequently Asked Questions

Bella Cavallo Equine Photographer

"I arranged a photoshoot with Kristina and David for our daughter. Very impressed with the attention to detail and the time that was spent on the day. It was very professional yet relaxed and my daughter who is 15 and her horse were both very much at ease. I would highly recommend St Albans Photography and I would definitely use them again."

What equipment will you use to photograph my horse?

We use a variety of techniques to take portraits of horses however for most of our shoots we come equipt with our cameras first and foremost, and some lighting. The lighting is very portable and mostly will be carried by an assistant, they will also be the ones who direct the light onto the horse as required for the photograph. On occasions we may bring a backdrop with us too but this will be dependant on the brief and discussed with you at the booking consulatation.

Will my horse be scared of any of the equipment?

We start each session by introducing the equipment to your horse. By spending some time de-sensitising them to the lighting and camera, we generally see most horses relax and forget that it is there. On occasion when the horse is uncertain of the equipment we will reformat the session to allow them some space but still get great shots.
